Hydrogen sulphide odour control at a sewage pumping station
Water supply and sewerage utility
Challenge
Residents complained about a persistent hydrogen sulphide odour near a sewage pumping station and its pressure manifold. A solution was needed without shutting the station down.
Solution
The BioGuard FA dosage was selected from H₂S measurements, and a DM-2 dosing module with telemetry plus an LK-1 mobile laboratory were provided on rent for monitoring.
Result
- H₂S concentration in the air fell by 85 % within the first two weeks
- Complaints from residents stopped within a month
- Reagent consumption was optimised by 20 % once the regime was tuned
